Zack Langer had 12 carries for 93 yards and a touchdown to help give top-ranked Jenks a 14-0 lead over No. 8 Edmond Memorial with 10:07 left in the second quarter of their Class 6A quarterfinal game on Friday night at Hunter-Dwelley Stadium. Jenks scored on its first two possessions. Langer opened the scoring with a 14-yard TD run.

Junior quarterback Sawyer Kollmorgen produced the best performance of his high school career at a critical time for the Jenks Trojans. After a turbulent week that included penalties to the Jenks football program and head coach Allan Trimble's indefinite suspension, the top-ranked Trojans faced No. 3 Broken Arrow in a showdown to keep a share of the District 6A-3 lead with Bartlesville. Kollmorgen responded with a near-perfect game as he completed 18-of-24 passes for a career-high 354 passing yards and

Both teams have outstanding defenses, but this could be an offensive shootout. Jenks quarterback Sawyer Kollmorgen has completed 66 percent of his passes for 886 yards and six touchdowns. His top receiver has been Brandon Kitchens, who has 19 receptions for 257 yards and two TDs. The Trojans have a strong ground game with Zack Langer (714 rushing yards, 12 TDs) and Cory Jones (209 rushing yards, 3 TDs).

Behind 7-6 at halftime, Jenks rallies to 34-13 win. JENKS — The Jenks Trojans were celebrating homecoming on Friday night and they almost forgot about the most important matter at hand. Trailing at halftime, the Class 6A No. 1 Trojans scored touchdowns on their first three possessions of the third quarter and pulled away to a 34-13 win over Claremore in the District 6A-3 opener before about 4,000 spectators at Hunter-Dwelley Field.

We were a little disappointed with our effort and execution in the first half, but with veteran linemen, you don't have to say much   -Allan Trimble

Whatever Jenks head coach Allan Trimble said at halftime, it worked. The top-ranked Jenks Trojans trailed Claremore 7-6 after 24 minutes, but exploded in the second half to beat the Zebras 34-to-13 Friday night at Hunter-Dwelley Stadium in Jenks. Jenks (4-0, 1-0 District 6A-3) racked up 334 yards rushing, including 263 yards and two second-half touchdowns from Zach Langer.

JENKS SENIOR TIGHT end Tyler Ott had a special night at Friday's MidFirst Backyard Bowl. Besides helping Jenks edge Union 27-25 with three catches and a touchdown, Ott was honored before the game when he received a $500 college scholarship awarded by the U.S. Air Force for being his team's top student-athlete. Union linebacker Bobby Lind also received a $500 scholarship.

You can't beat this, bringing the Backyard Bowl back to our home and beating Union in my last guaranteed time to play them   -Tyler Ott
